Register for Classes and/or Charitable Projects

To register for a class, you can either click the right-hand column below, or send an email to Mentoring Chairman, Bill Keener, at wgkwood@gmail.com. If you 'click to register', please type your name and phone number in the message, and in the case of multiple classes being offered, specify which class you want. Classes are filled on a first-come basis. All classes are at the Guild Education Center unless otherwise specified. Guild members only.

Details on the above:

A. Raised Panel door construction. This is a two session class with the first class meeting on Wed. afternoon June 16th from 1 till 4 pm. The second session will be Wed. afternoon June 23. This class is open to the first four (4) guild members who register.

B. Mortise and Tenon construction . Learn to use the Mortising machine and learn to cut tenons using the Tenoning jig on the Table saw. This class will be held Thursday evening June 17 from 6 till 9 pm. Class is limited to the first eight (8) guild members who register.

C. Pen Turning . This will be a two-part class with the initial class be held on Monday evening June 21 from 6 till 9 pm. The second session will be determine at the close of the initial class. This class is limited to ten (10) guild members, so sign-up soon.

D. Band saw box class. Learn to cut the material needed to build a box using the band saw. This is an introductory class and will be held Tues. evening June 22 from 6 till 9 pm. The class size is limited to six (6) guild members so please sign-up quickly.

E. Box Making 101. This will be a six week class that will cover box making from design, through construction to assembling and finishing. The initial class will be conducted on Thur. evening June 24 from 6 till 9 pm. Depending on the number of students there may be both a daytime and an evening class that will meet for the next 5 weeks following the initial class. This class is limited to 15 members and we have 7 guild members who signed up last Monday evening. The remaining 8 openings will be filled on a first response basis.

F. Table saw training class. Learn how to safely use a table saw , how to make zero-clearance plates, and other jigs used with the table saw. This class will be held Fri. evening June 25 from 6 till 9 pm. The class is limited to the first 10 members to register.

G. Jointer/Planer training class. Learn how to prepare rough cut lumber for use in furniture construction. Yhe class will be on Tuesday evening June 29 from 6 till 9 pm. Class is limited to 8 students.

H. We will conduct a Kreg Pocket jig class on Friday evening June 18th from 6 till 9 pm. The class will be open to the first five (5) guild members to register.

I. We will start the next Hand Tool joinery class on Tuesday evening June 22 from 6 till 9 pm. This class will meet on six (6) consecutive Tuesday evenings. There are 5 openings for this class so register immediately if you want to participate in this class.
